Uttarakhand Calamity: Maulana Mahmood Madani asks Muslims to donate to Prime Minister's Relief Fund

New Delhi: Jamiat Ulama-i-Hind, the largest Indian Muslim organization, while expressing shock at the calamitous flash flood and landslides in Utrakhand that killed a large number of people and swept away property worth crores of rupees, said that it has been making extensive efforts in its own way to provide quick relief and humanitarian aids to the evacuated victims since the day one. It first organized camp at Haridwar railway station where the victims were given food materials and medical help.

At present, JUH state Unit at the directive of Maulana Mahmood Madani, General Secretary of Jamiat Ulama-i-Hind, is holding relief camp at Jolly Grant Airport where the victims are being served packed food, biscuits, mineral water etc. Jamiat relief team including Dr. Islamuddin, President, JUH Utrakhand Unit, Maulana Altaf, General Secretary, state unit, etc are working all through the day and night for providing relief and other necessary materials to those who visit the camp.

Besides, the JUH Utrakhand Unit has donated to the Chief Minister Flood Relief Fund through District Magistrate of Haridwar.

Jamiat is also planning to provide relief and rehabilitation for the affected villages of the hillside. JUH relief team will start relief work among them once the permission is granted.

Jamiat Ulama-i-Hind general secretary Maulana Mahmood Madani, while reiterating that JUH is standing with all those who are facing harrowing times, has asked the philanthropists within the Muslim community for donation to the Prime Minister Relief Fund to support the victims who have suffered widespread devastation.
