Prof (Dr) Shakeel Ahmad Siddiqui was recently awarded with The Best Teaching Award by the President, Vice Chancellor of Ummul Al Qura University, KSA. Prof Siddiqui teaches in the College of Management, Ummul Al Qura.

Speaking to this Correspondent on telephone, Pro Siddiqui expressed his feelings and said that he attributed this acievement to dedication, consistent endeavour and probity. Carving out his name with the university, he received accolade, appreciation and congratulation from Vice Chancellor Dr Matooq Asas Bakri and F. AL Omiri, Dean of the College of Business Management.

He has a book to his credit for Management students titled "International Marketing".

Besides, he has presented lots of papers and published articles on socio- economic issues. During his more than three decades of teaching experience, he has taught in top notch B-schools in India and abroad with different capacity.

Prof. Siddiqui hails from nondescript village Sherpur of Gaya, Bihar, where he has completed his elementary education. He became nostalgic while talking to this Correspondent how he had to face numerous problems because of lack of basic necessities needed to pursue his education. He got his Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Gaya College, Gaya, and PhD from Magadh University, Bodh Gaya.

He comes of a middle class family, and constantly struggled to achieve his goal. He left no stone unturned in proving his worth as the best teacher.

Prior to joining this university, he has worked in different capacity with leading institutions in India. He has taught in Jamia Millia Islamia and Jamia Hamdard in Delhi as well.

He further expressed his opinion that teaching is passing through a
complete metamorphosis and if one does not keep abreast of the innovations and development in education, it becomes quite difficult to work in sync with modern world. "The best teacher is one who comes down to the level of students," Prof Siddiqui said.
