Al-Shifa Hospital completes successful one year

A total of 66,461 patients attended the hospital in a year

New Delhi, 3rd December: Al-Shifa Hospital situated at Jamia Nagar, Okhla (Near Jamaat Islami Hind headquarters) has successfully completed its one year. It may be recalled that the Al-Shifa Hospital was inaugurated by Delhi Chief Minister Mrs Shila Dixit on 20th November, 2011.

The hospital is catering to the needs of people of Jamia Nagar and proving to be beneficial. Since long time, the residents of Jamia Nagar were in need of a good multispecialty Hospital.
Medical Superintendent of the hospital Dr. Abdur Rauf told that the total number of patients attendig the hospital in a year was 66,461, including OPD patients numbering 56,070 and IPD patients were 10,387.

The total number of poor patients who attended the hospital was 12,413. The poor patients are charged Rs. 50 as the doctor consultation fees.

The total surgeries done during last one year was 597 and total number of deliveries done was 287. The hospital also organized 10 medical camps in last one year.

"The purpose of running of this hospital is to provide medical treatment to poor people and residents of Jamia Nagar at affordable charges," said Mr Qamruddin, Director of the hospital.

Mr Qamruddin stated that the hospital is going to start more facilities within next six month it will go up from 32 bed to 75 bed. ENT department and ICU will be also be started.

In the last one year, the hospital has organized ten free medical check-up camps, blood donation, free dental check-up camps etc to provide medical treatment to the residents. The hospital has several specialist departments like dental, gynecology, pediatric etc.
