Islamic Revolution inspires awakening movements in Arab world: Religious Leader

Islamabad: Central leader of Pakistan’s top religious party on Saturday said that Islamic Revolution led by Imam Khomeini has inspired awakening movements in Arab world.

Talking to IRNA, Jamaat-i-Islami (JI) Secretary General Liaqat Baloch warned that western countries are fomenting conspiracies to subvert recent wave of awakening in Muslim Ummah.

He said today many Muslim societies have been ruled by the dictators and monarchs who are just forwarding the western agenda. “They are suppressing their own people just to please their western masters,” the politician regretted.

Jamaat-i-Islami leader went on to say that people of Arab countries are tired of pro-American rulers and want to stop western interference in their countries.

He warned that the West would attempt to continue its hegemony over Muslim countries using the power leverage.

He strongly believed that the overall misery of the Muslims is due to the cooperation of Muslim leaders with anti-Islam powers.

Praising the role of Imam Khomeini he said that Imam had led the Iranian nation in difficult times and defeated a tyrant dictator. “The Islamic Revolution of Iran is definitely a source of inspiration for awakening in Muslim Ummah,” Liaqat Baloch added.

Secretary General of Jamaat-i-Islami said that awakening movements in Muslim world is the first step for the stability of Ummah adding that second step would change the social systems in the Arab world.

He urged Muslim countries to be united to stop the foreign interference in their countries. The Jamaat-e-Islami leader strongly believed that unity is the key to success of Muslim Ummah. “We have to unite to fight against a common enemy,” added the religious leader.
He said that capitalism is a fake system and has failed to address the problems of poor people.

Liaqat Baloch said that founder of the Jamaat-i-Islami, Maulana Syed Abul Ala Maudoodi, in 1940 had predicted about the failure of Communism and Capitalism. “Today capitalism is on the verge of collapse,” he pointed out.

He said that Muslim Brotherhood and other political groups in Egypt should unite to counter western conspiracies.

He was of the opinion that differences between Muslim Brotherhood and other political parties could provide an opportunity to western elements to play with the situation of Egypt.
