Prize amount for National Games medal winners doubled in Madhya Pradesh

Bhopal: The Bharatiya Janata Party ruled Madhya Pradesh Government has decided to double the prize amount of State’s medal winners of the 34th National Games. Enhanced prize amounts will be given to medal winners in solo and team events of National Games.


As per an order issued by the government, prize amounts of only those medal winners of 34th National Games will be doubled who are domiciles of Madhya Pradesh. Orders to this effect have been issued.


As per the orders, a gold medal winner in individual event of the National Games will be given Rs.4 lakh, silver medal winner Rs.3.20 lakh and bronze medal winner Rs.2.40 lakh. Similarly, a gold medal winner in team event of the National Games will be given Rs.2 lakh, silver medal winner Rs.1.60  lakh and bronze medal winner Rs.1.20 lakh.


It may be mentioned that earlier, a gold medal winner in individual event of the National Games was given Rs.2 lakh, silver medal winner Rs.1.60 lakh  and bronze medal winner Rs.1.20 lakh. Similarly, a gold medal winner in team event of the National Games was given Rs.1 lakh, silver medal winner Rs.80,000d and bronze medal winner Rs.60,000.


Remarkably, players from Madhya Pradesh had brightened the name of the state by winning 103 medals during 34th National Games held in Jharkhand in the year 2011. The players had won 25 gold, 32 silver and 46 bronze medals. These players will be provided the doubled amount by the government at a felicitation function.
