MBT leaders stopped from going to communal riots-hit Sangareddy, arrested

Hyderabad: Amjed Ullah Khan Corporator, Azampura Division, and Majlis Bachao Tahreek Party (MBT) leader was arrested and stopped from visiting the riot hit areas of Sangareddy (Medak) by Kothi Reddy, Officer on Special Duty (OSD) Medak District and was taken to Patancheru Police Station along with other MBT leaders.


Many Muslims properties and some Masjid were put on fire on March 29, 2012 night by some Hindu elements when Muslims objected to a photograph which was being circulated with a caricature of Mecca and Medina at the foot of Ganesh photo.


The police was a mute spectator when the properties of Muslims were being burnt specially Romania Masjid near Sanga Reddy bus stand.


MBT leaders protested the violence and demanded a high level inquiry. They alleged that such type of communal riots were being organized by Bajrang Dal and Hindu Vahini before Ram Navami and Hanuman Jayanthi and also to suppress the ongoing Telangana Movement.


MBT leader Amjed Ullah Khan has demanded a strict action against Jagga Reddy MLA of Sanga Reddy belonging to Congress (I) Party who was directly involved in the communal riots. He has also demanded the release of Muslims youths who were picked since yesterday night.He also asked the Wakf Board to repair the damaged Masjids immediately.
