Honorarium of Anganwadi workers and assistants doubled in Madhya Pradesh

Bhopal: The Bharatiya Janata Party ruled Madhya Pradesh Government has decided to double the honorarium of Anganwadi workers and assistants. In the wake of this decision, workers of Anganwadi will now get Rs. 3,000/- per month instead of Rs. 1500/- and assistants and sub-workers of Anganwadi Rs. 1500/- instead of Rs. 750/- per month.

According to an official spokesman the decision was taken at the Cabinet meeting chaired by the state Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan here on Tuesday.

In all, 78,929 Anganwadi workers and same number of assistants are working in the state. The State Government will bear additional burden of Rs. 22 crore 39 lakh 71,000 due to increase in the honorarium.

The cabinet also decided to make available two saris each every year to all the Anganwadi workers and assistants. Money at the rate of Rs. 200 per sari will be deposited in their bank accounts. The saris will of the same colour. This decision will put an additional burden of Rs. 6 crore 31 lakh 43,000.

The cabinet decided to provide murmure (puffed rice) for children of Anganwadis. The murmure will be salted/sweet/mixed taste as ready-to-eat breakfast to children of 3 to 6 years instead of khichadi/thuli/laspi six days a week. Earlier, this arrangement was sanctioned for one year and the department was instructed to find other suitable options. The department found this diet suitable for breakfast as it contains proteins, calories and quality. Therefore, the cabinet decided to sanction this arrangement for five years instead of one year.

GPS system

The cabinet decided to install global positioning system (GPS) instrument on the vehicles transporting food grains, sugar and kerosene under public distribution system. This system will be installed on the license holders' own or hired vehicles, which transport food grains, sugar and salt from the supply centres of Food Corporation of India and Civil Supplies Corporation and kerosene from depots of oil companies to public distribution system shops.

Better monitoring of vehicles transporting material of public distribution system will be ensured after installation of this system and they cannot be taken elsewhere in an irregular manner.

Land allotment rules

The cabinet approved “Madhya Pradesh Mein Udyaniki Evam Khadya Prasanskaran Ikaiyon Ke Proyojanarth Bhumi Evam Bhavan Avantan Niyam-2011” for promoting horticulture and food processing units with a view to giving fillip to private investment in the state.

A committee headed by collector will be constituted for taking decision on applications for land/building allotment and plots/buildings will be made available to various units as per their minimum requirements after undertaking technical examination of their capacity and objectives. This allotment will be made on a 30-year lease and priority will be given to industrialists belonging to scheduled castes, scheduled tribes, women and disabled categories in the allotment. These rules will come into effect from the date of publication in the State Gazette.

150 sub-engineers for Panchayat & Rural Development Department

The cabinet decided to deem the 150 surrendered posts for carrying out works related to irrigation in district sector of Water Resources Department as created in the Rural Engineering Service under Panchayat & Rural Development Department. These services will be available on deputation after screening, the spokesman aded.
