Solo cartoon exhibition of cartoonist Irfan on 'Beti Hai to Kal Hai' inaugurated

Bhopal: Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that the campaign to save daughters and uplift them will assume the form of a mass movement with society's participation. He said that awareness about daughters' importance, contributions and achievements has to be brought about.

Mr. Chouhan was addressing the inaugural function of cartoonist Mr. Irfan's solo cartoon exhibition and workshop on the topic "Beti Hai to Kal Hai".

Lauding the creative initiative for creating awareness about daughters' achievements through thought-provoking sketches showing positive thinking about girls, Mr. Chouhan said that the sketches drawn by Mr. Irfan effectively express the objectives of Beti Bachao Abhiyan. He said that daughters are power of society. They should get honour. There is need for dedicated efforts for creating positive thinking about daughters in society. The consciousness is gaining ground gradually through concerted efforts of the government and the community.

In his welcome address, cartoonist Mr. Irfan said that this exhibition has been organised at Bhopal after successful organisation at Gwalior and Indore. He said that this artistic effort has been inspired by the Beti Bachao Abhiyan launched by Mr. Chouhan and is dedicated to talents of girls. The Chief Minister also released a souvenir on the occasion.

A cartoon workshop will also be held at the venue of the exhibition at 11 am on November 23. Art lovers were present on the occasion. Mrs. Irfan proposed a vote of thanks.
