Delhi gearing up for Social Justice Conference

By Pervez Bari

Bhopal: Delhi is gearing up for the Popular Front of India's Social Justice Conference to be held on 26th and 27th of this month at Ramlila Maidan in Delhi. Volunteers from different parts of the country have been reaching the national capital since last week to oversee the arrangements of the conference.

A PFI release issued by I. Mohammed Tanveer, Media Coordinator of SJC, said that the publicity campaign for the conference is in full swing in and around Delhi conveying the message of Social Justice at the grass root level. Corner meetings, street campaigns in the markets, door-to-door campaign to reach every house, public meetings etc are being held for the purpose. Posters and hand bills are getting more response from the masses.

On Friday, Jama Masjid in the walled city saw a historic public campaign which reached even the tourists, who were from the different parts of the country, as well as the foreigners.

All the nook and corners of the country are also witnessing a warm public campaign call for the people “Chalo Eksath Dilli”. Thousands and thousands of people have accepted the call and vowed to rush to the national capital as the result of PFI public campaign. It means that it is not only the participation, but they are carrying the spirit of Social Justice from their native place to the capital to voice the demand for Social Justice from the stage of Ramlila Maidan.

A tea-stall vendor near Turkman gate, next to the Ramlila Maidan reportedly said: “Conference Har Din Hote Rahte Hain, Lekin Chabbis Aur Sathaayis Ko Ek Bada conference Hone Wala Hai” (Conferences are being conducted every day at Ramlila Maidan, but on 26th & 27th there will be a very big conference). It shows that this is the spirit and eagerness of the down-trodden masses for Social Justice, the release added.
