Attacks on Muslim youths to create communal trouble in Hyderabad, says Azampura Division Corporator Amjed Ullah Khan

Hyderabad: On November 8, 2011 around 11:30 pm two different incidents of attacks on Muslim youths occurred in Hyderabad in which three youths were seriously injured. “The attacks were carried by suspected RSS elements. The type of attack was similar and the Muslim youths were attacked with Kamma Kattis on the head and neck.The similar types of attacks are going on since Diwali on Muslims. First the attacks took place in the outskirts of Hyderabad under Cyberabad Police limits, particularly on Ibrahimpatnam Road under Vanasthalipurum Police Station limits.The matter was brought to the notice of Dinesh Reddy (Director General of Police, Andhra Pradesh), S A Huda (Addl.DGP (L&O) and Tirmal Rao Commissioner of Police Cyberabad by Majlish Bachao Tahreek (MBT). After strict vigilance by Cyberabad Police attacks were stopped but the culprits have not been identified in previous cases and caught,” said Azampura Division Corporator Amjed Ullah Khan.

Khan said that now the RSS elements are focusing on Hyderabad and with an intention to spread communal flare up they have attacked Muslim youths who were returning after meeting relatives on the occasion of Eid. The persons who were attacked at Kachiguda Masangatti Road included Omer Farooq s/o Abdur Rehaman age 23 years R/o Old Malakpet. Later on, Omer Farooq was admitted to Sai Krishna Hospital and is in a serious condition.

The other two youths were attacked at Bowenpally (Army Area). The youths who were attacked included Abdul Kareem S/o Late Abdul Inteqab R/o Taadbun and Abdul Azeem S/o Late Abdul Gafoor R/o Darulshifa. Both were admitted in Sai Krishna Hospital. Abdul Kareem is in a serious condition and Abdul Azeem has been discharged from the hospital.

Amjed Ullah Khan, Corporator Azampura Division, visited the spot where the two cases of attacks on Muslim youths took place. He also visited the hospital and spoke to the injured and promised them all help. Khan also demanded strong action against the attackers and their immediate arrest. He also demanded that the money for treatment in hospital should be borne by the Government of Andhra Pradesh. Khan also said that serious action shoud be taken by the state government to prevent further attacks on Muslims. Khan also questioned the Intelligence agencies for not alerting the government about the incidents happening since Diwali.
