Agrawal panel's recommendations accepted, pay disparity to end: MP Foundation Day gift to state staff

Bhopal: Giving a gift to officers and employees of Madhya Pradesh on State's Foundation Day, Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said that Agrawal Commission's recommendations for removing pay disparities will be implemented with effect from November 1.

Chief Minister Mr. Chouhan was addressing Madhya Pradesh Foundation Day function at Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel Park near Mantralaya (State secretariat). He extended Foundation Day greetings to all the officers, employees and people present on the occasion.

The Chief Minister said that some years ago, Madhya Pradesh was called a "Bimaru Rajya" (Sick state). Now, the growth rate of the state has risen to ten percent against the target of seven per cent in the ongoing XI Five Year Plan. It will be increased to 12 per cent in the next Plan. Contribution of officers and employees is also vital in the state's development. They can ensure state's progress by working with dedication, honesty and credibility.

Mr. Chouhan said that officers and employees are the heart of body of administration. Blood circulates properly in the body when the heart beats properly. He said that the purpose of Beti Bachao Abhiyan is to enhance women's dignity. This campaign is gaining momentum with people's cooperation.

Chief Minister Mr. Chouhan said that the state is undergoing development. Efforts are also on to ensure that benefits of development percolate to the last man in the last row. He reiterated the resolve to root out corruption. He said that zero tolerance policy should be adopted against corruption. He appealed that everyone should put in his best efforts for Madhya Pradesh's development. He said that in his capacity as Chief Minister, he promises to work 18 hours daily.

Terming malnutrition as a blot, the Chief Minister called for ending it and undertaking better works in health and education sectors. He said that India will progress when state progresses. State's development has to be ensured with a sense of devotion.

At the outset, Chief Minister Mr. Chouhan administered oath to officer and employees to contribute in the state's development and work for welfare of all the sections of society.

Earlier, Ms Suhasini and accompanying artistes rendered National Song Vande Matram and Madhya Pradesh Gaan – "Sukh ka Data, Sab ka Sath………" Principal Secretary General Administration Mrs. Vijaya Shrivastava welcomed Chief Minister Mr. Chouhan at the venue of the function.

MP Government Chief Secretary Avani Vaish, Additional Chief Secretary, Principal Secretaries, Secretaries, office-bearers of employees unions and officers and employees of Vallabh Bhavan, Vindhyachal and Satpura buildings were present on the occasion. The function began with National Anthem – “Jan Gan Man.....”
