HWF presents awards and cash prizes to 120 students of Uttar Pradesh

Lucknow: An Award for Academic Excellence programme was organised by Human Welfare Foundation (HWF) on 30th October 2011 at Malviya Conference Hall in Lucknow. The HWF presented awards and cash prizes to 120 shortlisted students, both girls and boys of Uttar Pradesh, who did well in their matriculation examination.

Besides this, three institutions namely Muslim Girls Inter College, Varanasi, Hira Public School, Ambedkar Nagar and Muslim Furkania Girls School, Sitapur were also presented with awards for their best academic record in previous years.

The Chief Guest of the function, Zafar Mahmood, Chairman of Zakat Foundation, New Delhi, emphasised the importance of education and he said that through education even a poor person can gain top position in a society.

He said that in the 21st century, now the keyboard has taken the place of pen. The programme was chaired by Jb. Rafeek Ahmed sb, Secretary, JIH introduced Jamaat-e-Islami HIind and its associated NGOs working for the welfare of downtrodden sections of the society at large level. He also gave introduction of Vision 2016 program which has taken up several welfare projects for minority community and has various affiliated NGOs including Human Welfare Foundation.

Pro-Vice Chancellor of Agra University and Trustee of Human Welfare Foundation, Dr. Manzoor Ahmed sb said that the purpose of education is to create a good society.

The Chairman of Uttar Pradesh Madrasa Education Board, Dr. Anwar Jalalpuri emphasised the students to become curious and learner.

Professor Rooprekha Verma said that to help the students for gaining education is very pious work and he also said that the first step of knowledge is putting question to the teachers and he appreciated and said the students to develop a habit of asking the question from the teachers. VC of Urdu Arabic & Persian University Anis Ansari Retd. IAS, RP Shukl, Masood Ahmad of Al Quran Institute, and Moulana Tariq Farqleet.
