Madhya Pradesh Meet held at Shanghai, CM Chouhan invites Chinese Investors to invest in state

Bhopal: As an effort to boost up international investments, the Chinese investors have been invited to invest in Madhya Pradesh, the central Indian state, at a "Madhya Pradesh Meet" organized on Monday at Hotel Sheraton in Shanghai jointly by the Madhya Pradesh Government and Confederation of Indian Industries (CII).

According to an official spokesman here the Consulate General of India to Shanghai Mrs. Reva Ganguli Das, Shanghai Electricals Vice Chairman (Economics) Mr. Pon Song and CII Madhya Pradesh President Mr. Sandeep Navalekar, other economy experts and more than 50 Chinese investors participated in the meet.

On this occasion, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mr. Shivraj Singh Chouhan, who is on a nine-day China visit, apprised the Chinese investors of industrial developments in Madhya Pradesh and State Government's policies and features of its investment-friendly administration. The Chief Minister informed that problems of investors and industrialists are disposed of immediately by a top-level committee headed by him. The concerning officers extend all possible helps to investors and industrialists in setting up their industries in the State.

Referring to Indo-China cultural and industrial relations, Commerce and Industries Minister Mr. Kailash Vijayvargiya assured the Chinese investors of providing all possible cooperation to them in Madhya Pradesh.

Welcoming the delegation of Madhya Pradesh, Indian consulate to Shanghai Mrs. Rewa Ganguli Das was all praise for Madhya Pradesh Government for holding Madhya Pradesh Meet. TRIFAC managing director Mr. Pramod Kumar Das informed the Chinese investors about available resources and specialties in the state through a presentation. CII Madhya Pradesh President Mr. Sandeep Navalekar lauded the efforts of Madhya Pradesh Government for organising programmes at Dalian, Beijing and Shanghai in order to woo Chinese investors.

On this occasion, Shanghai Electrical Vice Chairman Mr. Pon Sang gave a presentation on "Trading with Madhya Pradesh". He shared his experiences of setting up industries in Madhya Pradesh with the Chinese investors and highlighted the characteristics of the Madhya Pradesh Government and its industry friendly policy and proactive administration. He informed about peaceful working temper of workers and industry friendly atmosphere in Madhya Pradesh. Shanghai Electricals is one of the key Chinese companies which is supplying machines to power plant Sasan Singarauli and other power plants being set up in Madhya Pradesh. The company will ensure supply of required machines and equipments and machines will be maintained after the commissioning of plant.

Meanwhile, Chief Minister Mr. Chouhan accompanied by the high-level delegation of Madhya Pradesh today visited Hongquyo transportation hub and Suzulo industrial park including other important tourist places. They held talks with concerning officers about effective arrangements in the context of Madhya Pradesh.

The Chief Minister also visited China Singapore-Suzau industrial park. This industrial area is spread over in 74 square kilometer area. Vice President Huang Heto accorded warm welcome to the Chief Minister Mr. Shivraj Singh Chouhan apprising him of specialties of this huge industrial area. Out of 500 fortune companies of the world, 133 main companies are located at this industrial area which had been setup in 1994. As many as 16,000 Chinese industrial units are actively engaged in production. Besides, there are 4382 forest industrial units in this industrial area. This industrial area is providing employment to half million people. This is an integrated industrial area providing residences, social amenities and daily essential commodities.
