Popular Front of India announces Scholarship Scheme

IMO News Service

New Delhi: Following the two months long School Chalo campaign across the country, Popular Front of India is launching scholarship scheme for poor and meritorious students who wish to pursue higher studies after completing Higher Secondary (Plus Two) education. Applications are invited from students who seek the admission in the academic year 2011 - 12.

The scholarship is an interest-free loan to the students. Recipients are therefore required to refund the scholarship in easy installments when they join a job or after two years from the completion of the course, whichever is earlier. This is necessary because the scholarship is a grant to the community to be recycled for further benefit of maximum number of the needy students.

The scholarship is open to the students who are meritorious but financially needy and have passed (10+2) examination and are desirous to pursue Degree, Diploma Courses or any higher studies whose course duration is not less than two years. Students opting for unaided/ self financing institutions need not apply. This year, scholarship is limited to students belonging to Delhi, Haryana, Rajasthan, West Bengal, Manipur, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Tamilnadu and Kerala States.
